I read this book when I was a student of Open University Malaysia (OUM).
I think it is a very good book as it provides a practical inviting choice for courses in communication development, children's language, and educational methods. It also provides suggested projects in each chapter that provide first-hand experience for students in data gathering and analysis. The latest research findings on such topics as dialects, second language acquisition, individual differences in language development, and prelinguistic communication behaviors in infants are also highlighted. Apart from that, annotated lists of suggested readings that encourage students to explore topics in greater depth are also available. Last but not least, this book also expands coverage of cultural influences on language development. If you are a TESL student or an English teacher, I think this book is for you. Happy Reading.
